ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that sets out a framework of essential elements for putting an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) in place. The standard is designed to address the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact.
Whilst we don't currently hold ISO 14001, we do have a commitment to reducing our impact on the environment through the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) following the guidelines set out in the British Standard BS 8555 (Environmental Management Systems), which is a guide to the phased implementation of an Environmental Management System, including the use of environmental performance evaluation.
This process will culminate in us successfully obtaining ISO 14001 accreditation. BS8555 is more commonly known as the Acorn Scheme, details of which can be obtained by following the link.
