Perforating is where a line of holes is punched into a sheet of paper to make it easier to tear along a straight line (the perforation). We are able to perforate sheets in a single direction, and across the entire width or length of the sheet. If multi-directional perforations are required this can be achieved by die-cutting the sheets.
Perforations are often applied to single sheets such as invoices, to pads or NCRs where the perforation allows a single sheet to be detached from the pad, or to leaflets or brochures where a tear off section is required. When tear off sections are used in brochures, the perforation must be at least 10mm from the spine. Perforations can come in different sizes, for a finer perf you may require a microperf.
